Benue Gov. Alia Sets Up Economic Advisory Team

Benue State Government is making a major push to overhaul its economy and attract new investments with the official inauguration of the brand-new Economic and Policy Advisory Team.

Governor Hyacinth Alia who conducted the ceremony tasked the group of top experts to drive sustainable growth and job creation across the state.

He says their mandate is to provide objective, practical and forward-looking recommendations that will help the government create jobs, attract investment, improve internally generated revenue and enhance public service delivery.

Governor Alia emphasised that all recommendations must be driven by credible data, innovation, professionalism and accountability.

Despite existing challenges, Alia acknowledged that the State has enormous opportunities for transformation.

He therefore called on the advisory team to work closely with relevant stakeholders in building a resilient and diversified economy.

He also assured the members of government support and pledged that their recommendations would receive due consideration.

Leading the strategic panel are financial expert Nick Agule as Team Lead, alongside Carolyn Okoh Folami as Co-Team Lead.

For Benue State, the message is clear: the roadmap to economic resilience is officially underway.
