Police Suspect Food Poisoning For Death Of Four Family Members

Police have confirmed the death of four members of the same family following a suspected case of food poisoning in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria.

Tension has gripped Ihima community after the sudden deaths of four family members, believed to have died from suspected food poisoning.

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, who confirmed the incident while speaking with journalists in Lokoja said detectives have launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Meanwhile, Governor Usman Ododo has directed the Kogi State Ministry of Health to immediately deploy a team of medical experts to the community. The team is expected to identify the source of the suspected contaminated meal and prevent any further loss of life.

The Governor appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands, assuring the public that the state government is committed to uncovering the truth behind the tragic incident and ensuring those responsible are held accountable.
