MAINPresident Bola Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration, urging them to embrace the teachings and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The President said the celebration should go beyond commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet, urging the faithful to use the occasion for introspection, prayer and reflection on his exceptional virtues.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said Muslims should draw lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness from the life of Prophet Muhammad.
Tinubu also called on religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the country and encourage their followers to translate the Prophet’s teachings into greater commitment to Nigeria.
The President urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud festival to extend a hand of fellowship to the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the season.
He also called for prayers against insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country.
