PGA Tour 2027 schedule: 36 events, two at Pebble; more signature spacing
The PGA Tour announced Wednesday its 2027 competition schedule, which features 36 tournaments, including the four majors, and more spacing for signature events.
The total number of tournaments is down just one from this year, and though many have moved spots on the calendar, the schedule resembles much of this year’s schedule as the PGA Tour prepares for seismic changes in 2028.
As was previously announced, the Sony Open will not return to the schedule in 2027, while there remains one TBD date next year, for the event opposite the Feb. 18-21 Genesis Invitational.
The 2027 season will begin in Palm Springs on Jan. 21-24 before the PGA Tour heads to Torrey Pines for The Sentry, the name of the longtime stop at Kapalua, which was also permanently removed from the schedule following this year’s cancellation. Pebble Beach, which also hosts the U.S. Open this June, is next up, moving from the week after to the week before the WM Phoenix Open, which will still end on Super Bowl Sunday.
Two other tournaments that are no longer on the schedule are the Puerto Rico Open and Rocket Classic in Detroit.
The new addition is the Sompo Napa Championship, to be held the week before the regular-season finale in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is now dubbed GO by Raymond James.
While this year’s schedule had two instances of back-to-back signature events, none of the eight signature events in 2027 will be held in consecutive weeks. However, the Cadillac Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational will be held around The Players in March. The API had been held the week prior to The Players while the Cadillac, which debuted this year, was played in late April, right before the Truist.
The Valspar Championship, held in Palm Harbor, Florida, will now be pushed back nearly two months into that pre-Truist slot in early May.
Wednesday’s schedule release did not mention a potential PGA Tour Fall.
The 2027 schedule will be the last of its kind as the PGA Tour moves toward a two-tiered model in 2028, when it debuts the Championship and Challenger series. The Tour has already announced several Championship stops, and it plans to reveal eligibility information for 2028 by the end of this year.
