Gombe Land Planning:Government Agencies Engage in sensitization
Gombe State Government is intensifying efforts to promote orderly physical development and proper land administration across the metropolis.
The Gombe State Urban Development Authority, GOSUDA, and the Geographic Information Systems, GIS, have taken their enlightenment campaign to residents of Gombe Gardens in this regard.
Residents of Gombe Gardens listen attentively as officials explain the importance of proper physical planning, land administration, and sanitation.
The engagement is aimed at helping residents understand the approved layout and the need to comply with planning standards.
“We are here in order to engage the occupants of this area in order to understand the physical planning and also the land administration as well as the sanitary condition of their area.”
Officials say proper planning will ensure appropriate spaces for homes, schools, hospitals, and recreational facilities, while building setbacks will improve safety and ventilation.
The residents were also encouraged to obtain proper titles for their properties and avoid informal subdivision and sale of land.
“We are here today to enlighten the people living here to tell them the benefits of land titling. They should come and register their title and abide by the rules and regulations.”
GOSUDA says Gombe Gardens was previously an informal settlement but is now being integrated into formal physical development, with roads and other infrastructure planned for the area.
Residents say the transformation is already becoming visible.
“We are very happy with what the government is doing here. Before now, there was no proper planning in this area, but with the roads and other developments, we can now see the difference.
We are ready to cooperate with the government because proper planning will benefit all of us and make this community better.”
Authorities say the engagement will continue as part of efforts to build safer, cleaner, and better-planned communities across Gombe State.
