PSHAN to honour healthcare stakeholders
The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria has announced plans to honour outstanding healthcare sector stakeholders for their contributions to strengthening the health system and improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
PSHAN, in a statement made available to PUNCH Healthwise on Wednesday, said the stakeholders would be celebrated at its 2026 Annual Gala and Awards Night, themed “The Legacy Builders: Honouring Visionaries of Nigerian Healthcare”.
It added that the award ceremony would take place on Friday, November 20th, 2026, in Lagos.
“The Gala will recognise those whose leadership, innovation, commitment and investment are contributing to a stronger and more sustainable healthcare system in Nigeria,” the statement read in part.
PSHAN, however, called for nominations from members of the public, healthcare professionals, organisations, industry stakeholders, and others across the healthcare ecosystem.
According to PSHAN, nominations close on September 12th, 2026, and submissions can be made via pshan.org/awards2026/.
It explained that after nominations, nominees will undergo an independent, expert-led judging process designed to ensure a credible and rigorous assessment focused on measurable contributions to healthcare.
“The awards will recognise outstanding contributions across 5 key categories and 25 sub-categories: Government, media, non-profit organisations, individuals and the private sector,” it added.
PUNCH Healthwise reports that PSHAN recently launched Vivo Health, a digital platform designed to deepen access to healthcare and health information for Nigerians, particularly during emergencies.
Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director of PSHAN, Dr Tinuola Akinbolagbe, said many people lost their lives during emergencies like road traffic accidents due to a dearth of information and the inability of concerned bystanders to access emergency services.
According to her, the situations underscore the asymmetrical nature of information in the Nigerian healthcare space.
