Free outdoor cinema screenings, live entertainment and food and drink stalls will return to Queen’s Park in Loughborough this summer.
Summer Cinema, organised by Charnwood Borough Council, takes place on Sunday, 5 July, from 12pm to 7pm and offers a full day of big screen entertainment, live performances, and classic family fun.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxed Sunday with friends or a lively day out with the family, Summer Cinema offers something for everyone.
Three film showings will take place throughout the day. The public will soon be invited to suggest films on the Council’s Facebook page.
There will also be plenty of entertainers, fun rides and giant games bringing magic to the park all afternoon, as well as community stalls featuring unique items and tasty treats from local makers, creatives and community groups.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic or enjoy delicious offerings from local food traders who will be at the park.
Councillor Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for housing, economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “We held a Summer Cinema event last year and Queen’s Park was packed with families having an amazing time.
“This year’s event will no doubt be the same, and a great example of how we’re bringing our town centre and parks to life for residents and visitors.
“Last year the films shown were animated classics Encanto and Moana, followed by the popular musical-comedy Pitch Perfect. The films were well received and I’m sure the three films shown this year will be too.
“The event will be a superb opportunity to enjoy some top-quality entertainment and meet up with friends and family – all for free. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Queen’s Park in July.”
