The May bank holiday weekend in Charnwood will offer fun for the whole family across three events.

Fairtopia returns to Southfields Park in Loughborough from Friday, 1 May to Monday, 4 May allowing visitors to enjoy funfair rides, activities and stalls.

The event is being bought to Loughborough by I Need a Funfair.

The popular Love Loughborough Gardeners’ Fair will also take place in Market Place on Sunday, 3 May.

In addition, the Charnwood Sustainability Fair hosted by the Charnwood EcoHub takes place on Sunday, 3 May in Queen’s Park.

Cllr Jenni Tillotson, the Council’s Lead Member for Housing, Economic Development, Regeneration and Town Centres said: “This bank holiday brings a great opportunity for our communities to come together and enjoy these events taking place over the weekend.

“We work closely with a number of organisers to bring a diverse programme of events to the borough each year. Whether you want to enjoy the thrills of a funfair, browse the sustainability fair or pop along to the Gardeners’ Fair, there is plenty on offer for all ages.”

Fairtopia will be open 4pm to 8pm on Friday, 1 May then midday to 8pm from Saturday, 2 May to Monday, 4 May. There will be fairground rides and game stalls for visitors to enjoy as well as food and drink stands.

On each day, the first hour will be relaxed, meaning the noise and music from rides will be kept to a minimum for visitors with autism and their families.

The second Gardeners’ Fair of the year will be returning to Loughborough town centre from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, 3 May.

The specialist market, hosted by Love Loughborough, brings a range of traders selling plants, flowers, and gardening equipment alongside food and drink stalls and entertainment.

Visitors will also be able to find practical and everyday sustainability tips at the Charnwood Sustainability Fair on Sunday, 3 May. The event will take place 10am to 3pm at Queen’s Park.
