Anambra First Lady urges residents to prioritise health, wellbeing

By Ikenna Obianeri

The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has urged residents to prioritise their health and overall wellbeing, describing good health as the greatest investment and the foundation of a productive life.

Soludo, who is also the founder of the non-governmental organisation Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, encouraged residents to adopt a holistic self-care approach that embraces physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing to reduce preventable lifestyle-related illnesses.

She gave the advice in a statement issued on Monday as part of her routine health and fitness message to residents of the state.

She urged individuals to nourish themselves well so they could think well, move well, work well, love well and sleep well, stressing that every dream, relationship and achievement depends on overall wellbeing.

She said, “Your health is your greatest investment. Too often, we take our bodies for granted, pushing through exhaustion and ignoring the signs that something needs attention.

“Yet, every dream, every relationship and every achievement depends on your overall wellbeing. Don’t wait until your health begins to fail before you value it.

Make caring for yourself a daily routine and priority because when your foundation is strong, every other part of your life has the opportunity to flourish and function better. Let that guide you as you begin this brand-new amazing week.”

PUNCH Online reported in February that the wife of the Anambra State Governor led a Healthy Living Walk across communities in the state to promote physical fitness and raise awareness about healthy eating and disease prevention.

At the event, Soludo described physical fitness and healthy eating as effective preventive measures against diseases such as cardiovascular conditions and stressed the importance of proper nutrition for both children and adults.
