The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has ended its contract with Online Integrated Solutions (OIS Services), the third-party company previously responsible for managing Nigerian visa applications in the United States.
Following this decision, travellers in the US who require a Nigerian visa must now submit their applications directly to official Nigerian diplomatic missions. The NIS announced that the cancellation of the third-party service takes effect immediately.
In a statement released on Thursday, NIS Public Relations Officer Akinsola Akinlabi directed all applicants to use designated official locations.
“Travellers seeking Nigerian visas are now required to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC, or at the consulates of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta until further notice,” Akinlabi said.
The immigration service did not provide a reason for the sudden change but assured the public that the embassy and consulates have set up adequate measures to handle the workload and ensure smooth visa processing. Applicants are advised to check the official websites and communication channels of the NIS and the Nigerian missions in the US for further updates.
