Police have revealed that one of the two men taken in for questioning regarding the murder of Zolani Tete was about to board a flight out of KuGompo city in the Eastern Cape.
Tete, a former two-time world boxing champion, was gunned down in front of his home on Friday night.
Police spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana says she cannot reveal any more information about the matter.
“Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, it is an ongoing investigation; I am not able to disclose any details. They also form part of the investigation. We are following a particular motive, but at this point in time, all of this, the investigation is at a very sensitive stage.”
