President Bola Tinubu has approved 26 appointments into 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
This is contained in a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Abuja.

Tinubu also appointed retired Maj.-Gen. Junaid Bindawa as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
Fayose will head the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as members and non-executive directors.
The agency’s Director-General, Mr. Abba Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors complete the REA board.
The President also approved eight appointments into the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
Former House of Representatives member, Mrs. Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was appointed secretary of the commission.
Dr Ogbole Lilian, Mr. Oladele Olatubosun and Mr. Yakubu Barde were named commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna States respectively.
Other members are Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Tor (Enugu), Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Mrs. Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
Mr. Tosin Adeyanju was redeployed from the National Lottery Trust Fund to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
Tinubu also appointed Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission and Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc.
Dr Anthony Godwin was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Mr. Julius Oloro was named Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation, replacing the late Dr A.R. Kamal.
The President also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission with Dr Abdullahi Saidu as chairman.
Other board members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola.
Shuni Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.
Mr. Gisaor Iorja was named Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned.
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
