The Propak West Africa Summit 2026 has announced the official theme for this year’s leadership forum and unveiled Alex Gendis, Chief Executive Officer of Beta Glass Plc, as the opening keynote speaker for the summit scheduled to hold from September 8–10, 2026, at Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The summit will hold under the theme: “Unlocking Growth in Food Processing & Packaging: Drivers, Opportunities, Constraints and Economic Linkages.”

According to the organisers, the summit comes at a time when West Africa’s manufacturing sector continues to evolve, creating the need for stronger collaboration among industry players, policymakers, investors, technology providers and development partners to drive sustainable growth across the food processing and packaging value chain.

The leadership forum is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to examine the major factors influencing the growth and competitiveness of the sector, while identifying emerging opportunities and addressing the constraints limiting industrial expansion.

The discussions will also explore ways of strengthening regional value chains and examine the broader economic linkages that will shape the future of food processing and packaging across West Africa.

The organisers announced that Gendis will deliver the opening keynote address on Tuesday, September 8, at the Landmark Centre, Lagos.

As one of the region’s leading manufacturing executives, Gendis is expected to share insights into the changing landscape of food processing and packaging and highlight the strategic investments, innovation, sustainability initiatives and industry collaboration required to unlock long-term growth across West Africa.

The organisers said his keynote was particularly timely and closely aligned with this year’s summit theme, adding that it would provide valuable perspectives on the opportunities, challenges and strategic priorities shaping the future of the industry.

The summit will feature a range of industry and policy experts, including Titus Gado, Manufacturing Director at CHI Limited; Dr. Markus Grumann, Managing Director of Miho Inspection Systems; Obaloluwa Dairo, Venture and Policy Development Lead at the Circular Economy Innovation Partnership (CEIP); and Nnorom Chidiebere, Chief Operating Officer at Ebees Green.

The organisers said additional speakers would also participate in the leadership forum as stakeholders deliberate on the policies, partnerships and innovations required to accelerate industrial growth and strengthen West Africa’s food processing and packaging ecosystem.

The summit is expected to attract senior executives, government representatives, regulators, manufacturers, investors and technology providers from across the region.

Their participation will provide an opportunity for stakeholders across the value chain to engage on the structural and commercial issues affecting the sector, while exploring opportunities for investment, technology adoption, sustainability and stronger regional industrial linkages.

The leadership forum will form part of Propak West Africa 2026, which will also feature an exhibition showcasing products, technologies and solutions relevant to the food processing and packaging industries.

The organisers said visitors interested in attending only the exhibition would be able to register for a free visitor pass.

The three-day event will therefore combine industry exhibition and high-level discussions, providing a platform for businesses and policymakers to examine the future of food processing and packaging while exploring practical opportunities for growth across West Africa.
