Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has formally presented a staff of office to Senator Francis Alimikhena as the new Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom in Etsako East local government amidst pomp and ceremony.
The people of Uwanno Kingdom came out on Saturday in their thousands, both young and old to witness another new era with the coronation of the new Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom.
The occasion marked the beginning of a new chapter in the traditional leadership of the kingdom, as Senator Alimikhena takes on the responsibilities that come with the revered stool of the Okumagbe.
Governor Monday Okpebholo, who presented the Staff of Office to the new traditional ruler, charged him to continue maintaining peace and development in the kingdom.
For the people of Uwanno, this is more than a ceremony. It is a celebration of heritage, continuity, identity and the enduring institution of traditional leadership.
Immediately after the Coronation, goodwill messages begin to pour in like torrents from friends, close associates and groups praying for a successful reign of the new Okumagbe.
From the Association of Edo Community Leaders in Abuja, the message reads, “we felicitate with Senator Francis Alimikhena, the people of Uwanno Kingdom, the Uwanno traditional institution, and the entire Etsako East community on this historic occasion”.
The message signed by the President,
ESV. Charles Oboh and Secretary,
Chief Barthy Okhipo, stated,
“May the reign of the new Okumagbe bring peace, unity, progress and prosperity to the Uwanno Kingdom”.

FCT, we heartily congratulate Your Royal Majesty, Sen. Bar. Francis A. Alimikhena,
on your Coronation as the Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom in Etsako East Local Government Area, Edo State.
“Your ascension to the royal throne is a moment of great pride and joy, not only for the people of Uwanno Kingdom, but for all Sons and Daughters of Edo State. We believe this well-deserved
honour reflects your sterling character, wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the progress and well-being of your people.
As you assume this sacred responsibility, we pray that Almighty God grants you abundant wisdom, good health, strength, and divine guidance to lead Uwanno Kingdom to greater heights.
May your reign be marked by enduring peace, unity, prosperity, justice, and remarkable development that will inspire future generations to uphold the cherished values and traditions of
our people”.
The Edo Community Leaders, FCT, remarked, “Please accept our heartfelt goodwill and best wishes for a long, peaceful, and successful reign.

Long live Edo State!
A similar message was also sent by the Onogie I, Chief of Edo in Dutse Community, Abuja, Snr High Chief Peter Dokpesi, who extolled the good qualities of the new Okumagbe to be a sincere, honest and trustworthy leader.
Dokpesi prayed that the reign of the new Okumagbe will usher in peace, development and progress in the Uwanno Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the new Okumagbe has launched Uwanno Development Fund with the sum of One hundred million Naira to carry out development projects in the Community, while urging his people to contribute to the fundraising.
The Royal Highness thanked God, the Governor, the ruling house and the Uwanno people for the recognition and support to emerge as the preferred choice to the throne.
Our Correspondent reports that the occasion, which was a celebration of culture and Royal grandeur, attracted prominent citizens and captains of industry.
