Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez met privately with Pope Leo on Monday morning before the morning visit to the Congress of Deputies.

Before heading to the Congress of Deputies for the meeting with members of the Spanish Parliament, on the morning of June 8, the third day of his visit to Madrid, Pope Leo XIV briefly met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. The Holy See Press Office communicated the meeting via Telegram, also noting that the Pope later greeted some of the Prime Minister’s associates. The private meeting lasted approximately 20 minutes.
