KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Social Development, Mbali Shinga, has won an urgent court interdict against her removal from the legislature.
Singa approached the Pietermaritzburg High Court after the National Freedom Party (NFP) expelled her from the party for defying its orders.
The court order stops the speaker from proceeding with plans to swear in NFP president Ivan Barnes as the party’s sole representative in the legislature.
Her lawyer, Sithembiso Mbhele, says the court ruling is justice for Shinga.
