By Patrick Odey

The Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Blessing Umo, has lauded Governor Umo Eno for the delivery of the CNG buses and the recent unveiling of the 350-bed hospital, describing the projects as enduring legacies for future generations.

Umo spoke with journalists on Friday in Uyo after the July edition of the State Projects Delivery Meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, where the governor highlighted key achievements and ongoing initiatives across strategic sectors, including the unveiling of the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital and the delivery of 20 CNG buses, among others.

Umo said the introduction of the CNG buses and the International Hospital project reflect a government driven by innovation, foresight, and a clear determination to improve the living standards of the people.

According to her, the Governor has once again demonstrated that sustainable development is anchored on deliberate investments in sectors that deliver long-term value to citizens.

She noted that the CNG mass transit initiative represents a major milestone in the state’s push for modern, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly transportation, adding that it would ease mobility challenges while aligning Akwa Ibom with global clean energy standards.

“The introduction of CNG buses is not just about expanding the transport system; it is about embracing innovation, reducing transportation costs, promoting environmental sustainability, and positioning Akwa Ibom as a leader in clean energy mobility,” she said.

Speaking further on the Ibom International Hospital, the IPAC Chairman described it as a bold and strategic investment that would significantly transform healthcare delivery in the state and the region.

“This is a project designed with future generations in mind. They are enduring investments that will continue to serve our people long after today’s political discourse has faded. Governor Umo Eno is laying a solid foundation for a healthier, more prosperous, and economically competitive Akwa Ibom State,” she added.

She called on Akwa Ibom people, regardless of political affiliation, to support initiatives that promote collective progress, noting that development must always transcend partisan considerations.
