Bridge Clinic wins NHEA award
Bridge Clinic has won the IVF Service Provider of the Year category at the 2026 Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards for a record eighth time, reinforcing its position as a leading fertility centre in Nigeria after three decades of service in assisted reproduction.
The award was presented at the 12th edition of the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards, held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, where leading stakeholders across Nigeria’s healthcare sector gathered to recognise organisations and professionals demonstrating excellence, innovation and measurable impact in service delivery.
In a statement sent to PUNCH Healthwise, Bridge Clinic’s Managing Director, Dr Matthew Azoji, received the award plaque alongside a team of fertility specialists, embryologists, nurses, counsellors and other professionals from the clinic.
Speaking after the announcement, Azoji described the recognition as both an honour and a responsibility.
“This recognition is more than an award; it is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence and patient-centred care.
“At Bridge Clinic, we believe that consistent outcomes are by design, not by chance. Our success is rooted in a rigorous governance framework and a dedication to global standards,” the clinic’s MD said.
He added that the clinic’s repeated recognition at the NHEA underscored its sustained investment in quality systems, ethical practice and transparent patient engagement.
Founded in 1996, Bridge Clinic has built its reputation over 30 years on clinical governance, patient-centred care and consistent outcomes for individuals and couples seeking to achieve parenthood. It was the first IVF centre in Nigeria to receive ISO certification.
The clinic operates on a diagnostic-first approach, in which treatment begins with comprehensive screening and evidence-led decision-making, enabling clinicians to recommend care pathways based on each patient’s clinical profile.
It also aligns its local care delivery with globally benchmarked fertility practice, serving patients in Nigeria and the diaspora.
“Bridge Clinic has emphasised structured quality management, clinical oversight and continuous improvement as central pillars of its operations. Bridge Clinic was the first IVF centre to become ISO certified in Nigeria.
“Community-centred support: Through initiatives such as “We Are With You” and patient support forums, the clinic continues to provide counselling, education and emotional support to patients navigating the fertility journey,” the statement read in part.
It further noted that industry observers said the award reflected the growing contribution of private healthcare providers to Nigeria’s health system, particularly in specialised services such as assisted reproduction, diagnostics and tertiary care.
As it marks its eighth NHEA win and 30 years of service, Bridge Clinic said it remained focused on expanding access to advanced fertility care while strengthening technology, governance and patient experience, with thousands of successful births attributed to its work across Nigeria and West Africa.
