Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.
The award was announced by UEFA’s Technical Observer Group following another outstanding European campaign from the Georgian winger, who played a key role in PSG’s successful title defence.
Kvaratskhelia finished the competition with 10 goals and six assists in 16 appearances, helping Luis Enrique’s side secure their second consecutive Champions League crown. He also covered 124.17 kilometres during the tournament and recorded a top speed of 33.7 km/h.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in PSG’s triumph, particularly in the final against Arsenal, where he won the penalty that allowed Ousmane Dembélé to equalise after being fouled by Cristhian Mosquera.
One of his most memorable performances came in PSG’s dramatic 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of the semi-finals. Kvaratskhelia scored twice in the thrilling encounter, including a superb curling effort and a powerful second-half strike.
The award follows in the footsteps of previous winners Ousmane Dembélé (2024/25), Vinícius Júnior (2023/24), Rodri (2022/23) and Karim Benzema (2021/22).
Meanwhile, Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler was named UEFA Champions League Revelation of the Season.
The newly introduced award replaces UEFA’s Young Player of the Season honour and is designed to recognise emerging talents who make a significant breakthrough during the campaign.
Güler enjoyed a remarkable rise in Europe’s elite competition this season. After making just one start and playing 142 minutes in the previous edition, the 21-year-old became a key figure for Real Madrid, starting 13 matches and featuring in 14 overall appearances while accumulating 1,030 minutes on the pitch.
The Turkish international impressed throughout the tournament and was named Player of the Match following Madrid’s league-phase victory over Juventus, where his creativity and composure in midfield stood out.
He ended the campaign with two goals and four assists, with both of his goals coming in Real Madrid’s quarter-final second-leg clash against Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé also received individual recognition after finishing as the Champions League’s top scorer with 15 goals.
UEFA also announced its Team of the Season, with champions PSG dominating the selection with five players included in the Best XI.
