Published: Mon 1st June, 2026

Business Connect inCharnwood is inviting local businesses and entrepreneurs to a free drop-in session.

The event is taking place on Monday, 22 June 2026 between 8.30am-11am at the Institute Loughborough located on Baxter Gate.

The event will provide an opportunity for Charnwood businesses to network with other professionals, talk through any business-related issues and find out more about becoming a member of Business Connect inCharnwood.

The drop-in session will feature an interactive session called ‘Help to Grow’ with Ian Harmer, from University of Leicester and Bobby Chotai, from De Montfort University. The Help to Grow session will explain what the programme is and how businesses can benefit and get involved. The session begins at 9.30am.

Business Connect inCharnwood was launched in January 2025 and aims to bring together businesses, support organisations and Charnwood Borough Council to shape future policies, schemes and innovations to help companies thrive in the borough. This is the fourth drop-in session that has taken place in the past year.

Chris Grace, the Council’s, Head of Economic Development and Regeneration at Charnwood Borough Council, said: “The Business Connect inCharnwood drop-in events offer local businesses and entrepreneurs an opportunity to network, get advice and learn about the support available to them.

“The insights that we learn from these sessions and from talking to our local businesses helps us shape the borough’s economic development for the future.

“I am also pleased to welcome both Ian and Bobby to the session as both will offer a huge amount of experience and insights for our attendees whilst also discussing the Help to Grow programme.”

Businesses are not required to book a time slot and can attend at any point during the event but are asked to register their attendance. Refreshments will also be available. To book a space, visit the Business Connect inCharnwood website.

The venue that the event is being held in is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
