Christopher Lambert Collapses At Pittsburgh Comic-Con, Rushed To Hospital
Highlander star Christopher Lambert was taken to a hospital after collapsing during an appearance at the Steel City Comic-Con in Pittsburgh.
The 69-year-old French actor was reportedly signing autographs for fans on Saturday when he suddenly became unwell and collapsed, according to a witness who spoke to TMZ.
Lambert was subsequently taken away in an ambulance and transported to a local hospital.
Organisers of the Steel City Con confirmed that the actor had to leave the event because of a “personal issue”. They also announced the cancellation of his scheduled photo opportunity.
His representative later sought to reassure fans, telling TMZ that Lambert was “perfectly ok” and resting at his hotel.
The spokesperson said the actor had not slept the previous night enough and had eaten very little during the day, which allegedly caused his blood sugar to drop.
It is not yet clear whether Lambert will return to the Pittsburgh convention on Sunday.
However, he is reportedly expected to recover in time for his scheduled appearance at FAN EXPO in Chicago next week.
Lambert is widely recognised for portraying Connor MacLeod in the Highlander franchise and also starred as Raiden in the 1995 action film Mortal Kombat.
