CRC Credit Bureau Appoints Femi Jaiyeola As Non-Executive Director

CRC Credit Bureau Limited, Africa and Nigeria’s largest credit bureau, has appointed Mr. Femi Jaiyeola as a Non-Executive Director on its Board of Directors.

Jaiyeola will represent Access Bank Plc on the CRC Board, replacing Dr. Gregory Ovie Jobome, who previously served as Non-Executive Director and, at different times, Chairman of the board on behalf of the bank.

According to the company, the appointment has received the regulatory approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Mr. Jaiyeola currently serves as Chief Risk Officer of Access Bank Plc, one of Africa’s leading financial institutions, bringing over 25 years of experience across risk management, regulatory compliance, internal audit, governance, and banking operations across Nigeria, Africa, and Europe.

In a statement welcoming the appointment, CRC Credit Bureau praised his professional background and expressed confidence in his contribution to its strategic goals.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Femi Jaiyeola to the CRC Board. His extensive background in risk management, regulatory compliance and financial governance is not only deeply aligned with CRC’s institutional mandate, it adds a calibre of strategic insight that will be invaluable as we continue to expand Nigeria’s credit infrastructure and deepen financial inclusion across the country. We equally take this moment to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Gregory Jobome, whose leadership and dedication to CRC’s mission over many years have left an indelible mark on this institution.” Dr. ‘Tunde Popoola, MD/CEO, CRC Credit Bureau Limited

Before becoming Chief Risk Officer at Access Bank, Jaiyeola previously served as Group Chief Conduct & Compliance Officer, where he oversaw the bank’s conduct and compliance framework and ensured alignment with international regulatory standards.

His earlier roles include senior compliance positions at Sterling Bank Plc and the former Diamond Bank Plc, where he served as Chief Compliance Officer. He also held key roles at Standard Chartered Bank as Head of Internal Audit for Nigeria and West Africa, Citigroup Internal Audit in London as Vice President, and Barclays Bank in London as Manager, Internal Audit.

A Big Four-trained Chartered Accountant, Jaiyeola began his career at Arthur Andersen (now KPMG). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

He is a Certified Risk Manager and Fellow of the International Compliance Association, the Compliance Institute of Nigeria, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, where he chairs the Board Corporate Finance Faculty. He has also featured as a speaker at the RegTech Africa Conference & Awards, where he is recognised as a thought leader in financial risk management and regulatory technology.

Reacting to his appointment, Jaiyeola said: “I am honoured to join the Board of CRC Credit Bureau at such a consequential moment for Nigeria’s financial services landscape. CRC’s role in building the data infrastructure that underpins responsible lending is both critical and inspiring. I look forward to contributing my experience in risk, compliance and governance to support CRC’s leadership team as they continue to drive financial inclusion and credit access for millions of Nigerians.”
