The Edo State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his administration’s investment in the state’s healthcare sector, saying Edo Specialist Hospital has grown into a centre of excellence in specialist care.
The association gave the commendation on Friday during the seventh anniversary celebration of Edo Specialist Hospital in Benin, where it also congratulated the hospital’s management and staff led by the Chief Medical Director, Dr Anthonia Njoku.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the NMA in Edo State, Dr Eustace Oseghale, said the hospital had grown over the past seven years into a referral hub serving Edo State and beyond.
He attributed the hospital’s progress to the leadership of Governor Okpebholo and the Chief Medical Director, noting that the institution had recorded significant achievements in patient care, staff development and infrastructure.
Oseghale further noted that the hospital has made remarkable strides in strengthening healthcare delivery in the state.
The Edo NMA chairman praised the management for its commitment to improving healthcare services and reaffirmed the association’s support for the hospital.
“We commend your dedication, innovation, and commitment to advancing healthcare delivery in the state. The partnership between NMA Edo State Branch and Edo Specialist Hospital remains strong, and we are proud of the role your institution plays in safeguarding the health of our people,” he said.
Oseghale also wished the hospital greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
“As you mark this milestone, we pray for God’s continued guidance, more growth, and greater impact in the years ahead,” he added.
