Family wealth drama: Davido faces backslash for attacking Erigga

Afrobeats star, Davido, has continued to face backslash for attacking rapper Erigga over remarks about family’s wealth.

DAILY POST reports that Erigga had on Wednesday acknowledged and celebrated the effort of artistes who built their career without family wealth.

Erigga wrote on X, “Shoutout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and have to grind for every single dollar they earn.”

Quoting the post on his handle, Davido, who comes from a wealthy family background, tackled Erigga as he defended artistes born into privilege.

While mocking Erigga family background, Davido wrote in Pidgin English, “No be we say make your pops no guard o. Shoutout to the ones that came from family money and still grind to the top. Comot here with that your useless motivation. Imbecile.”

Reacting to the clash under Davido’s post, many users accused him of having low self esteem and inferiority complex.
