Loughborough is set to come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of great food when a popular festival returns to the town centre next month.
Charnwood Borough Council will host the second annual Charnwood Food Festival & Artisan Market on Sunday, 17 May, in Loughborough’s historic Market Place.
The one-day event will showcase an exciting mix of street food vendors, artisan food and drink producers, and independent local businesses, offering everything from global flavours and freshly baked goods to indulgent sweet treats and foodie gifts.
Alongside the food and drink, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, children’s activities and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere at the heart of the town.
Running from 10am to 4pm, the festival is free to attend and open to everyone.
Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s Lead Member for Housing, Economic Development, Regeneration and Town Centres, said: “The Food Festival is a brilliant way to celebrate the creativity and passion of our local food scene while giving people another great reason to visit Loughborough town centre.
“Events like this help support independent businesses, create a real buzz in the Market Place and offer a fun, inclusive day out for families, residents and visitors.”
The Council is still welcoming applications from:
- Street food vendors
- Artisan food and drink producers
- Local makers and independent businesses
- Charities and community groups
Traders can choose between a 10ft x 10ft gazebo or a standard market stall. To apply, email TCO@charnwood.gov.uk.
