The 2026/27 English Premier League, EPL season will kick off with an unprecedented level of managerial change, as nine of the 20 clubs prepare to begin the campaign with new coaches.
The figure represents the highest number of clubs to appoint new managers between Premier League seasons before the opening weekend.
Newcastle United’s appointment of Matthias Jaissle completed the record number of managerial changes after the club parted ways with Eddie Howe.
Jaissle, 38, takes charge at St James’ Park following a successful period with Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, where he guided the side to major silverware.
His move to England gives him the opportunity to continue Newcastle’s development and establish his own style at the club.
The extensive changes have made the 2026/27 campaign one of the most intriguing in recent Premier League history, with a number of established clubs entering the season under different leadership.
The new campaign gets underway on Friday, August 21, when Arsenal welcome newly promoted Coventry City to the Emirates Stadium.
