The case against media personality Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court has been postponed to August 24 for further investigations.

He faces charges of pointing an object resembling a firearm and discharging it in a public space.

Maarohanye was arrested last Sunday morning following an alleged altercation with an e-hailing driver.

He was scheduled to appear in court last Monday, but subsequently filed an urgent application to the High Court, resulting in his release on bail on Tuesday.

Maarohanye, appearing relaxed, entered the dock and placed his hands behind his back, attentively listening to the presiding officer.

Due to his previous conviction, he is facing a Schedule 5 offence.

He denies pointing a firearm at the e-hailing driver and claims there is a campaign aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
