Over 24,000 legal practitioners from within and outside Nigeria are expected to coverage on Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, to deliberate on burning legal issues facing the nation at the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA .
The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Tonye Krukrubo, SAN, who stated this at a Press briefing, said Port Harcourt is fully ready to host.
The 66th Edition of the NBA Annual General Conference will afford lawyers the opportunity to suggest ways to put an end to multiple Court processes that have become a challenge to the image of the once-revered profession.
Outgoing President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, acknowledged that the nation is at a critical stage.
He noted that conversations to help Nigeria retain its pride of place among the comity of nations will take the center stage at this year’s Bar Conference.
The NBA President also shed more light on the choice of Port Harcourt for the 2026 edition of Annual General Conference, following its initial move to Enugu in 2024.
The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Tonye Krukrubo, SAN, used the opportunity to commend Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for his immense support towards the hosting of the conference.
The theme of the Conference is “Beyond Limits.”
