Lawyers to Nigerian musician, Tochukwu Gubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as OdumoduBlvck, have petitioned the Lagos State Police Command over an alleged attempt by police officers to arrest the musician at about 3:00am on August 29, 2026.

The petition, dated August 31, 2026, was written by Marshal Attorneys and addressed to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Lagos State Police Command.

The lawyers said the incident happened despite their earlier response to a police invitation issued to their client, adding that the Inspector General of Police’s office was already handling the matter through its Monitoring Unit.

They also stated that a related matter is pending before an Abuja Magistrate Court, arguing that the police investigation should not continue separately while the case is before the court.

The lawyers said, “On the 29th of August, 2026 at about 3:00am, officers of the Nigerian Police Force purportedly acting on your Command swooped on our Client with an invitation letter purportedly issued by your good self.”

The legal team further alleged that the action occurred despite a previous denial of the authorship of the invitation by one of their lawyers.

The lawyers asked the Assistant Commissioner of Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“We request that you cause an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the actions complained of herein,” they stated.

They also urged the police to defer to the Inspector General of Police’s office, which they said was already handling the matter.
