The Ogun State Waste Management Authority, in collaboration with Environmental Health Officers of Sagamu Local Government, has apprehended a woman captured in a viral video dumping refuse into a drainage channel in Sagamu.

The woman was seen carrying a yellow sack filled with refuse before emptying its contents into the drainage during rainfall.

According to the viral video, she appeared unperturbed when she noticed that she was being filmed and confronted over the act.

Confirming her arrest in a post on X on Tuesday, OGWAMA said the woman was apprehended following the circulation of the video.

“The Ogun State Waste Management Authority, in collaboration with the Environmental Health Officers of Sagamu Local Government, has apprehended the lady captured in a viral video dumping waste into a drainage channel in Sagamu last Friday,” the agency stated.

OGWAMA urged residents to desist from indiscriminate waste disposal and patronise waste collection operators accredited by the agency.

“A cleaner Ogun State is a shared responsibility,” it added.
