#OsunDecides2026: APC wins Obokun LGA

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, has won Obokun Local Government Area in the ongoing Osun governorship election.

Mr Oyebamiji defeated his closest challenger, the Accord Party candidate and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, by 4,097 votes.

According to the final result announced at the Obokun LGA collation centre at about 11:15 p.m., the APC polled 16,120 votes, while the Accord Party secured 12,023 votes.

A total of 29,147 votes were cast, comprising 28,687 valid votes and 460 rejected votes.

Other parties recorded the following results: ADC, 205 votes; ADP, 99; AA, 47; APGA, 42; AAC, 28; ZLP, 84; APM, 11; YPP, 14; APP, two; BP, four; NNPP, three; PRP, one; and SDP, four.

The result announced at the LGA collation centre is subject to final approval by the INEC Returning Officer at the final collation centre in Osogbo, where the results from the 30 local government areas are expected to be collated and announced.

Fifteen political parties are participating in the election. However, results emerging from the polling units have so far indicated a close contest between Mr Adeleke of the Accord Party and Mr Oyebamiji of the APC.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State has 2,399,233 registered voters. Of this number, 1,906,390 collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and were eligible to vote across 332 wards and 30 local government areas of the state.
