Ronald Koeman has resigned as head coach of the Netherlands national team bringing an end to his second spell in charge of the Oranje.
Koeman’s resignation comes in the wake of the Netherlands’ elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Dutch were knocked out by Morocco in the Round of 32.
The Netherlands exited the tournament after a dramatic 3-2 penalty shootout defeat following a 1-1 draw in regulation and extra time.
Koeman, who returned for a second stint as Netherlands coach in 2023, leaves the role with the Dutch Football Association expected to begin the search for his successor ahead of the team’s upcoming international fixtures.
