Seven Polytechnic Students Abducted In Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of seven students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, but has assured residents that efforts are underway to secure their safe rescue.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, the incident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, when suspected armed bandits attacked rented student accommodations located on the outskirts of the Low-Cost Area in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.

The Police statement explained that the attackers abducted seven students and whisked them away to an unknown destination.

Abubakar disclosed that upon receiving the report, joint Police tactical teams and military personnel attached to Operation Fansan Yamma were immediately deployed to the area.

Security operatives, however, arrived after the bandits had fled the scene.

The Police further revealed that one of the abducted students escaped from captivity and has since been reunited with fellow students.
