Skyewise Group has committed over N9 billion to Edo State’s economy, according to its founder and chief executive officer, Dr. Elvis Abuyere, who said the investment underscores the company’s long-term confidence in the state and its commitment to economic growth, job creation, and youth empowerment.
Abuyere made the disclosure during the grand opening and commissioning of the company’s multi-billion naira corporate headquarters in Benin City, where he said the N9 billion investment reflects Skyewise Group’s expanding footprint across key sectors of the economy.
He explained that the conglomerate operates in investments, loans, automobiles, real estate, contracts, and youth empowerment, adding that its activities in Edo State have continued to generate both direct and indirect economic benefits.
“We have committed over N9 billion to Edo State’s economy. This investment reflects our strong belief in the state’s economic potential and our commitment to supporting development, creating jobs, and empowering young people,” Abuyere said.
He disclosed that more than 100 direct jobs have already been created through the newly commissioned headquarters alone, while the company’s wider operations continue to generate additional employment opportunities across its value chain.
Abuyere added that the investment also aims to strengthen the state’s internally generated revenue through increased private sector activity and business expansion.
He further revealed that Skyewise Group, through its foundation, has empowered over 2,000 youths nationwide, noting that human capital development remains a core pillar of its investment philosophy.
The CEO also announced plans to establish an automobile assembly plant in Edo State, saying discussions were ongoing with Governor Monday Okpebholo on a possible partnership to localise vehicle manufacturing.
He said the proposed project, currently being developed with Chinese partners, would help reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported vehicles and stimulate industrial growth in the state.
Speaking at the event, a member of the Board of Directors of Skyewise Group, Ambassador Usman Sarki, said the company’s N9 billion investment demonstrates strong investor confidence in Edo State’s economy and policy environment.
Representing Governor Okpebholo, Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa commended the investment, describing it as a vote of confidence in the state’s economic direction.
He assured investors of the administration’s commitment to security and policies that support private sector growth.
The event climaxed with the official commissioning of the company’s new corporate headquarters in Benin City.
