Successful turnout for annual tenant engagement event at Loughborough Town Hall – Latest News – News Updates

Council tenants and leaseholders gathered at Loughborough Town Hall on Thursday, 4 June for Charnwood Borough Council’s annual tenant engagement event.

Held in the Sock Gallery between 10am and 4pm, the event saw a strong turnout of residents taking the opportunity to meet council officers face-to-face, ask questions and learn more about the range of services available to them.

Attendees were able to access advice and support on key issues including managing rent payments, reporting repairs, and tackling anti-social behaviour. Council teams were on hand throughout the day, alongside partners, to provide practical guidance and connect residents with useful resources.

Visitors also had the chance to sign up to a variety of tenant services, groups, forums and upcoming activities, helping them to stay involved and informed about housing services across the borough.

Peter Oliver, Director of Housing and Wellbeing at Charnwood Borough Council, said: “It was fantastic that so many tenants and leaseholders were able to attend this year’s engagement event.

“These sessions are incredibly valuable in helping us listen to residents directly and ensure they feel supported and informed about the services available to them.

“We remain committed to providing accessible, responsive services and events like this help ensure residents’ voices continue to shape what we do.”

The engagement event forms part of the council’s wider programme of outreach, which includes a series of pop-up events taking place across the borough throughout 2026. These informal sessions allow residents to meet officers and partner organisations in their local communities.

• Wednesday, 5 August – Wanlip Lane, Birstall
• Wednesday, 2 September – Altogether Place, Warwick Way, Loughborough
• Wednesday, 30 September – Staveley Court, Loughborough
