President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deploying advanced technology to crush the contemporary security challenges facing the nation.
President Tinubu stated this in Port Harcourt during the grand finale of the activities marking the Nigerian Army’s 163rd anniversary celebration.
The four-day 163rd anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Army climaxed with a display of the military’s arsenal, ceremonial parades, and demonstrations of combat readiness in emergency and kidnapping scenarios.
Addressing the troops, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, vowed to end insecurity in Nigeria through intelligence-driven and technology-enabled operations.
The President also expressed his commitment to revamping the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and applauded the partnership with the African Land Forces Forum (ALFF).
In his address, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, thanked President Tinubu for his massive support towards the well-being of army personnel.
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, commended the Nigerian Army for hosting the 163rd anniversary in Rivers State, stressing that the event reaffirms the peace and tranquility currently prevailing 0in the state.
President Tinubu, also assured the families of soldiers who paid the supreme price that their sacrifices will not be in vain.
