The African National Congress (ANC) Women’s League has called for the National Treasury to establish a fund to take the fight against gender-based violence and femicide forward.

The league’s members picketed outside Finance Minister Enoch Godongwane’s offices in Pretoria on Monday.

The ANC Women’s League Secretary General Nokuthula Nqaba says they are demanding increased funding for shelters, counselling and legal aid and enhanced monitoring of gender-based violence.
