Türkiye has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack targeting Pakistan’s paramilitary Rangers personnel in Karachi, which killed at least three members of the security force and wounded four.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Turkish embassy in Islamabad expressed deep sorrow for the families of those killed and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
Türkiye reiterated its steadfast support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism in all forms.
On June 27, terrorists launched a coordinated assault on a Pakistan Sindh Rangers security facility in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Attackers rammed a vehicle laden with explosives into the main gate, triggering a blast, then attempted to breach the perimetre with gunfire and grenades.
Rangers personnel, supported by Special Security Unit and Anti-Terrorist Force units, responded swiftly. Security forces foiled the attack, killing three attackers and capturing at least one injured suspect, according to a statement by the Pakistani military.
Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA), a splinter faction linked to the terrorist group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack.
Army chief Field Marshall Asim Munir had expressed his “deepest” condolences with the families of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.
“These sacrifices further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs,” he added.
