A youth organisation, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has applauded the Enugu State Government under Mr Peter Mbah, following the successful rescue of victims abducted from Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Inoyi-Affa in Udi Local Government Area of the state.
The Enugu State chapter Chairman of the NYCN, Barth Ebuka Okoh, who made the commendation described the rescue of the abductees and the recovery of the ransom fees as significant achievements in the ongoing efforts to strengthen security and safeguard all residents of the state.
He praised Governor Mbah for his sustained investment in modern security infrastructure, including surveillance systems, drones, vehicles, communication gadgets and the state’s Command and Control security architecture.
Mr Okoh said the successful rescue operation and the arrest of suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate underscore the effectiveness of technology-driven security measures and improved coordination among security agencies.
Speaking further, he commended the security agencies involved in the operation for their professionalism, bravery, and commitment to the protection of lives and property in the state.
According to the NYCN State chairman, security remains fundamental to the state’s development. He added that a safe environment is essential for young people to pursue education, entrepreneurship, employment, and other productive engagements.
He urged security agencies to sustain the momentum and ensure that all suspects found culpable are duly prosecuted.
“A safer Enugu is a stronger Enugu, and a stronger Enugu provides a better future for our youths,” Okoh said.
The Enugu State NYCN chapter further expressed solidarity with the rescued victims and their families, while commending the state government for its continued efforts to make Enugu increasingly a no-go-area for criminally minded individuals and gangs.
