A zip line has also been installed and is due to open in the coming weeks.
The improvements have cost around £500,000.
Cllr Anne Gray, the Council’s Lead Member for Open Spaces, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to invest in improving the play area which looks fantastic and I am sure it will be enjoyed for years to come.
“Children will have a wide range of equipment to use within the park including accessible and sensory equipment to ensure all children can enjoy the play area.
