The African Development Bank (AfDB), in collaboration with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), CGIAR Centres, Regional Technology Delivery Infrastructure (RTDI) partners, Regional Member Countries, development partners and the private sector, will on Monday, June 29, 2026, officially launch Phase III of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) – the bank’s flagship technology delivery programme under the Feed Africa Strategy.

Following the AfDB Board’s approval of $16 million for TAAT Phase III, the programme enters a new phase focused on sustainability, private sector engagement, digital agriculture, climate resilience, and scaling proven agricultural technologies across Africa.

Themed “Resilient Food Systems for a Prosperous Africa”, the TAAT Phase III Launch and Implementation Workshop holds at the ILRI Campus, Nairobi, Kenya, from June 29 to 30, 2026.

Over the last eight years, TAAT has become Africa’s premier platform for scaling agricultural technologies, reaching more than 25 million farmers, increasing crop productivity by up to 69%, influencing $3.18 billion in agricultural investments, and strengthening seed systems across the continent.

TAAT Phase III will build on these achievements by reaching an additional 14 million smallholder farmers while strengthening Africa’s capacity to produce climate-resilient certified seeds, digitise extension services, attract private investment, and mainstream proven technologies into national agricultural investment programmes.
